If you follow my blog you will maybe notice something- We were once the “Oviedo Ward” now we are Tuskawilla. We grew and split the ward and now we are Tuskawilla (or at least I am) And since we split there are alot of new people to meet and get to know. We decided to work on a get to know you activity.
Decorations for this being in February was alot of fun!!
We made the fun red banner using paint chips (we asked our local store first) and created the banner. Cheap and love how it turned out!
Another part of the decorations was our HEART TREE. We used heart post it notes, with every single woman/sister in our church on their own heart on the wall / tree. As you came into the event you went up to the tree to find your name and pin it on. Since we were getting to know each other, it served as a name tag.
It also made a point later after we started how many names were LEFT on the tree, and we need to seek out and reach out to those sisters they may need a friend or someone to stop by and see them or invite them back to church.
Our lesson started off about Visiting Teaching we then went into a nice dinner.
We provided the Lasagnas and the sisters either brought a dessert or a salad to share
One sister brought a cake to match the theme. It was SO FUN to have!! I love how it turned out. Publix did a great job!
After we ate we played a get to know you game.
I found the game at MOMMIES HOBBIES blog.
The game was called “switch sides if” We put down a taped line and we read off “switch side if you like…..” and we would switch sides if it applied to each of us. We learned ALOT about each other. It really was alot of fun! Love this game!!
It was a great getting to know you event and yummy and fun for Valentines day.
At the end we gave all the sisters that came candy to enjoy – a little gift for valentines
