Teacher appreciation week here is May 4th -8th. I am going to TRY to post all my projects for this year a week early to share and inspire any of you looking for ideas. 🙂 I made this one very inexpensively. I used a 24 inch piece cut from my broken/fallen down fence in the back yard.
I cut out the teachers name on vinyl from my Silhouette Machine. My favorite crafting tool ever!! Centered it on the board and used transfer paper to transfer it to the wood.
Once I got it on the wood I then removed the transfer paper off the vinyl carefully.
It made the perfect stencil. Then started dabbing lightly acrylic paint onto the stencil.
Here is a tip when you paint stencil. Brush from the outside in. You will less likely have bleed from the paint as you brush away from the sides and that way it doesn’t push paint under the stencil. So always work from the outside in.
Once I was done, you do not need to wait for it to dry. In fact if you allow it to dry fully you may pull off some of the paint. So wet is best in my opinion.
Then I used my exacto knife and removed all the extra pieces of vinyl in the center of some of the letters.
Easy Peasy!! a fun rustic wood sign for the teacher to use in her classroom or wherever she would like 🙂
Stay tune for more projects we will be sharing this week!! Teacher appreciation week is my favorite week during the school year!!
