I hadn’t planned on doing an April Fools lunch for the kids this year however just before bed (night before April Fools) my 14 yr old SON asked if I was going to do a “fun lunch”. I told him NO you are too old and I am getting too old for this ๐
However by 1230am I was feeling GUILTY before I headed to bed. So — I decided to see what I had on hand to change up their lunches.
I looked in my pantry saw that we had ramen noodles and the size was perfect for taking the noddles out and adding their sandwich in.ย Carefully opening on 1 end and swapping out the contents and using tape to tape back closed the end. It was a perfect swap. I saved the noodles in a zip top bag for a later meal.
This next item was FUNNY!!
I took the bacon’s that belonged to our dogs and removed them (saving them in a zip top bag for later). The bag smelled like bacon and didn’t want to ruin my kids food. I then took their favorite chips and emptied that into a zip top bag to protect them and put them in the dog bacon bag. EASY SWITCH!!ย The twist chips almost kinda looked like bacon. This was my favorite switch!!
Now that I had an empty chips bag (which I opened at the bottom to try to keep the opening discreet as possible) I loaded the bag with baby carrots and sealed the chip bag off. Easy switch!
I had a pound cake in the freezer that I quickly defrosted and cut slices like bread and made a quick butter cream that was orange to create a grilled cheese sandwich look. (They already had a REAL sandwich in the ramen noodle bag). And this created their treat ๐
What a quick fun lunch! I did include in a small container of ranch dressing I stuck into their lunch bags for the carrots that were hidden in the frito/chip bag.
My kids LOVED this lunch! I don’t allow them to peek into their lunch box. I staple off the paper bag sack belonging to my son to keep him out until lunch time.
He said the kids thought it was SO GROSS with the dog bacon in the lunch box. BWWAHAHAHA!! LOVE THAT!!!
Crazy lunch pulled off. It was easy and used what I had in my pantry. FUN STUFF!
