A recipe that a friend years ago told us, and we love this over and over again! Very quick when you are in a hurry. I have also heard this called a “DUMP CAKE” where you just dump everything into the pan and bake it. But that doesn’t sound real lady like.
All you need is
1 jar of peaches (if you didn’t do your own canning.. well that would be almost all of you but 1 other I know hahahaha) You use 2 medium cans
1 box of your favorite yellow cake mix
1 1/2 sticks of butter. I use unsalted.. but you can use any.
Pour the peaches into the bottom of the 9×13, I cut up my 1/4 into 1/8 pieces so they are not big pieces of peaches. You want to use the juice too. Then you sprinkle the entire box of cake mix over the top evenly. Cut your 1 1/2 sticks of butter into pats and arrange them like this over the top of the cake mix. Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees. You should then get a nice brown crust over the top let it cool then serve.
The cake absorbs all the yummy juice from the peaches that was in the jar (cans) and the butter gives it a crunchy top and helps makes the cobbler. It is yummy!!! My family has enjoyed this for many years but we will enjoy our hard work on our canned peaches. WOOT WOOT
There is no mixing, no real mess. All done right in the pan. TASTY!!
YUM! Im buying peaches tomorrow for this. MMMMMMMM I can’t wait!
Hello, came across your page thru couponersunited and enjoyed your website so I signed up for your email newsletter!
I was born with a nerve impairment due to my mother’s having german measles while she was pregnant with me. I have only 20 percent hearing in both ears and have worn a hearing aid since I was 2 years old. My condition is not inherited.
I never even learned the sign language and went to public school starting in the second grand and on to college after going to a special school for the deaf and hard of hearing people in New York. I worked for the Los Angeles County Social Services for 30 years and retired in 1999.
I would not be without the close caption feature on my televisions, too. I also have the Cap-Tel phone. See if there is one available in your area, it is free to qualified people; you just pay your normal monthly phone fee. I don’t even have long distance as my friends and family can always text me or send me emails to communicate as well as free online messenger services.
I can hear but sometimes don’t always understand, but I get along just fine in today’s world. I am a member of our local deaf and hard of hearing chapter and we have special activities all the time which are a lot of fun and you do get to meet nice people, too!
I am a very young 66 year old sexy senior citizen who lives alone in a beautiful community in Las Vegas. I have one married daughter, 46, and one granddaughter, 6 years old and they all live in southern California.
Now here is my recipe for Dump Cake:
Dump in one can of cherry pie filling. Dump in one can of crushed pineapple, juice and all. Sprinkle yellow cake mix over all. Cut butter in small slices over the cake mix. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes. I used only one stick of butter and it comes out more like a fruit crisp.
Keep up the wonderful work on your website.
Sincerely,
Pam
