The above was our invitation we gave out. Printed it up and actually cut it out like a magaphone on the Silhouette machine. So it was a fun “shaped” invitation.
September our theme was TEAM WORK for Relief Society. And our topic was Visiting Teaching. Working as a team with your partner when you go visit the other sisters in the the ward you are assigned to. We had a wonderful speaker that gave us tips on fun Relief Society visits for each month, and what type of Visiting Teacher are we. It was a great night. Decided the class was like a RSU- Relief Society University class and it gave all the sisters in the ward to show off their favorite teams. Football- college/nfl or any sport or any HS etc. It was fun It was decorated sports like and the sisters brought in some of their fun team memorabilia. It turned out great.
All the fun TEAM things decorating the room.
The old RICKS COLLEGE banner was fun!! 🙂 (aka BYU-Idaho)
The tables were pretty easy to decorate. Made paper banners and stuck them in team cups. Football and plates. Seems football stuff was everywhere I looked so that made it all the more fun. Dollar Tree had them. We had jelly beans and popcorn on the table the sisters to enjoy during the class.
The Jelly Beans also had a deeper meaning which I thought tied in well with the thoughts of working as a team because not everyone is the same and we may need to work with all types of people and visit all types of sisters. 🙂
We printed up these PEOPLE ARE LIKE JELLY BEANS on each table that held in a fun football shaped bowl.
Then at the very END of the night The sisters made bags of candy from our candy table up. It was a way they made up a bag of candy to give to the sisters they will go visit that month. Even if the sister was at the evening, we provided blank tags to tie onto the bags and allow each “TEAM” to write a message to those they will go visit. So when they went to visit them it was still a surprise to what the message might say.
We have a wonderful group of sisters and they all pitched in donating candy to the candy table. It was a great night and lots of team spirit. The sisters also were encouraged to dress in their team best. 🙂 I loved it. Maybe it was more for ME but I totally enjoyed putting this night together with my wonderful Committee.
