Our Church Christmas Party was very unique and alot of fun! Our Relief Society President put together a video of the event.
I am super proud how it turned out. We wanted to keep CHRIST in CHRISTmas. I believe it was achieved.
But I will share some of the details of this fun event.
A simple manger was created. Star made out of tree branches, and the manger made out of kraft paper. Which is a roll of painters drop paper from Home Depot and simply push pinned to the wall.
Christmas decorations are always so fun!
Our gathering activity was extremely fun! It served multiple purposes.
1- our center pieces
2- activity as people arrived
3- those boxes were then judged by the bishopric and the winning 4 boxes were able to go get their dinner’s first.
Each table had a shoe box that we had covered in the kraft paper. Inside of every box was ribbons, and bows, stickers etc. There was a CHECKLIST they had to follow. Drawing their favorite scripture scene, using so many stickers, using so many colors etc…. So everyone opened up their box and decorated. The winning box is the photo above they created their box as an actual scene. Most people decorated the outside of the box. It was awesome to see so many families jump in and work on this “gift box” It was a very fun activity!
As people brought in a sweet or savory dish to share (We provided the ham and rolls and butter) You were asked to fill out a card with what it was that you brought and why it was special to your family if there was a reason. It was fun to try dishes that meant certain things to each other!
As we were all eating we watched the quick clip of “HE IS THE GIFT” Which you will find here
It really set the tone for the night!
We then had a program talking about why HE is the gift- in a form of a nativity. Not your traditional one. The program was written by our RS President. She did a great job!
We are so lucky/blessed to have a member of the church to have these great costumes to borrow each year!
Our final activity with our Ward was taking the #sharethegift cards and each person filling them out on how we would share it and take selfies and send them to the RS. President for the video if you wanted to be in it. Everyone jumped on board with that. It was great!!
This is our Relief Society Presidency 🙂 (I am the one on the far right) I love serving with these 3 gals. They make me so happy and feel blessed to work with them!
