Prior to this party for my son. I knew VERY LITTLE if anything about the game PORTAL 2. I still have no clue how to play it however I do know how to look all over the internet and also find things in the store and ask my son- SOO how will this relate to the game. We found quite a few fun matching things for the theme.
The party takes place in a warehouse I am told. So I pulled out all my galvanized pieces I have been collecting over the last 2- 3 years. It worked great. My son decorated outside since the party was taking place outdoors ๐
This loot we got at the Dollar store for a candy / gag gift game. It was great for teens!!
Simply put 1 gift item wrapped up. (I chose just to paper bag them all with a staple. Then you number each bag.ย On scrap paper since I had 28 bags, I cut 28 pieces of scrap paper and numbered each one. Threw all the numbers in a bucket. When we started, the birthday boy picked the 1st number. He then picked up the bag that coordinated with the number and opened the gift. The 2nd persons turn then either could steal from the 1st person or pick a number/bag.ย 3rd person could steal or pick a number. You go around and around till all the bags are taken.ย So there was alot of stealing and laughing and giggling. This took about 35-40 minutes of pure fun. Best game ever for teens! It was a way instead of giving goodie bags since they are too old for that (so My son says)ย To still give them all something to go home with and alot of memories. ๐
In Portal there are Cores aka Spheres. They all have names that go with their colors. An emotion etc. We simply separated a 3lb bag of skittles and broke them up by color. The containers we got at the dollar store as well. We could also use the orange skittles for our other treat.
This taffy is available RIGHT NOW in the dollar store with the Halloween Candy ๐
Also The chocolate eyeballs for Halloween look like cores as well! PERFECT!!
Because I didn’t want to cut and serve a cake to teens. This was the easiest solution and they loved it.ย There is actually a CAKE in the Portal Game. ๐
Test tubes filled with orange skittles to look like a chemical from the game. We named it my sons initials and his age on the stickers.
Since it was an inside/ outside party I gave a pack of streamers and tape and had my son go decorate outside.
We had a fire pit with all the tiki torches going for the night party.
Lots of candy to make s’mores.
It was a great party. Lots of music, food, screaming, running, hiding in the dark, games etc.ย It was pretty easy and was relatively inexpensive because I was able to make all the paper tags myself on my printer and had the metal stuff. Most of our items came from the dollar tree. Great night had by all!!
Now I am curious about this PORTAL game. After having to study it- I need to see it in action!
but where or how did you make the labels??? I would LOVE to do this for my son’s wedding rehearsal dinner but I have NO CLUE how to get/make the labels for the drinks
Do you by any chance have the printable files you used?
Will you share/sell the printable files for all the labels you made?
would you share your printable label files? My sister-in-law wants a portal baby shower this summer and I’m desperately trying to help her mom make this happen
Wondering if you had the labels available?
I see the other post about printable files, do you have them on your website?
